What is a Ball Joint?
Ball joints in automobile are spherical bearings that connect the control arm to the steering knuckles. More specific, with the ball is bearing steel stud and socket enclosed in a steel casing. Bearing stud is tapered and threaded. It fits into the tapered hole in the steering knuckle. A protective wrap to prevent dirt from getting into the joint assembly. Control the ball joint motion tends to be maintained by an internal spring, which helps to prevent vibration problems in the relationship. Commonly found in automotive throttle linkages, throttle body set up, is also widely used in construction equipment, the end of gas springs and in children's toys.
