A Conceptual Design is the initial image that shows the ideas that have been formulated after the master plan has been developed or are asked to do a survey on candidates or current
boating facility site.
Conceptual design drawings will include the following:
- The title sheet which provides a map where the site is located within the state,
water body, the area, the agency responsible.
- A picture of the existing site plan. This will show existing site conditions including
previous repairs and site topography.
- Conceptual site plan will indicate the proposed repairs. If necessary we
engineers will give you more than one option to consider.
This is a good time to seek input from staff and users to determine whether what has been the proposed layout is acceptable. Our engineers can tweak the design to meet your needs. Conceptual provided can help determine whether your project will require a permit.
We suggest you contact our Environmental Coordinator to determine the steps to obtain necessary permits for the project. We will provide initial cost estimates. These cost estimates will help determine what you
institutions will require a match and what to ask for grant funds from the board. Council guidelines for the minimum proportion of matching funds in the form of combined cash and in the form of the game, according to the type of applicant are: Local Entities, 25%, State Institutions, 25%, the Federal Agent, 50%.
