Subsea Engineering Handbook

Subsea Engineering and Deepwater Petroleum Exploration & Production Handbook

Designing and building structures that will withstand the unique challenges that exist in Subsea operations is no easy task. As deepwater wells are drilled to greater depths, engineers are confronted with a new set of problems such as water depth, weather conditions, ocean currents, equipment reliability, and well accessibility, to name just a few. A definitive reference for engineers designing, analyzing and instilling offshore structures, Subsea Structural Engineering Handbook provides an expert guide to the key processes, technologies and equipment that comprise contemporary offshore structures.

Written in language that is clear and easy to understand, the book is based on the authors 30 years of experience in analysis, design and gradually offshore structures. This book answers important questions mentioned above and covers the entire spectrum of subjects in the discipline, from route selection and planning to design, construction, installation, materials and corrosion, inspection, welding, repair, risk assessment, and applicable design solutions. This produces a roadmap not only for the subsea engineer but also the project managers, estimators and regulatory personnel hoping to gain an appreciation of the overall issues and directed approaches to subsea engineering design solutions.

Up-to-date technical overview of deepwater riser engineering
Easy to understand Coverage of design, analysis and, stallation
Address issues of fixed and floating platforms
Covers techincal equipment such as Subsea Control Systems, Pressure Piping, Connectors and Equipment Layout as well as remotely operated vehicles

"Combined, these two authors have a long career with large international companies and educational institutions in the U.S., Japan, and Norway. They have prepared this book for prospective subsea engineers, discipline described in the preface that involves" the design, analysis, construction, installation and integrity management of subsea wellhead, trees, manifolds, jumpers and PLEMs PLETS .... "Coverage is logically organized, beginning with a subsea production system (the development, distribution, surveying, positioning, and foundations, the estimated cost. Coverage of power supply, and the risk and reliability, among other topics) further includes insurance and engineering flow systems, structures and equipment., and umbilical, risers & flowlines to the Gulf oil spill, the world saw the consequences of poor engineering and management; texts is important for a thorough education of future practitioners "-. New second edition of the authoritative book has retained all the good original bestseller, describes the unique challenges of the oil and gas exploration and production in the world's deepwater provinces. New chapters on geology and geophysics, rig, and vehicle service included, and the scientific and engineering schemes used in deepwater will be discussed in more detail. The case studies in several chapters provide practical examples, while the final chapter presents the latest technology used in the "third wave" industrial evolution.

Having more than I even anticipated. Thorough and precise. I have learned a lot from this book, especially geosciences and then came part Elementary drilling in water. I am very impressed.
