Japanese Aircraft Passengers Struck by Lightning


A plane carrying starflyer 145 passengers and crew from the airport Kitakyushu in Fukuoka Prefecture, southwestern Japan, according to local press on Monday, struck by lightning, Sunday (11/11).

In the report it is said, the plane was struck by lightning at 22:00 local time, about 25 minutes after taking off from the airport. The plane finally landed in a safe condition at Haneda Airport, Tokyo, at around 23:00 local time. No passengers or crew were reported injured.

It was also said the pilot saw a crack in the cockpit window after a lightning strike that. The airlines and aviation bureau Japan have started checking for damage caused by lightning strikes.
